Privacy Policy of Lester Buildings

This policy explains how this independent procurement website handles information sent through inquiry forms, article comments and ordinary server logs. It applies to the current website. It covers lesterbuildingssourcing.com. It does not describe a customer portal that this site does not operate.

Who receives the information

This independent China sourcing desk receives inquiries at the site inquiry form. We may share project specifications with shortlisted suppliers only to prepare the quotation and evidence requested by the buyer. A supplier receiving technical details is identified in the project correspondence.

What you send

The inquiry form asks for first name, last name, work email, phone, company, project country, building use and a message. The message should carry span, height, loads and a destination port if you want a technical reading. Please do not put passport numbers, government identity numbers or health information in that box. Article comments collect name, email, an optional website and the comment text, plus the article identifier. That email is used to spot abuse. It is not printed on the article.

Why it is used

Inquiry data is used to answer the request, to decide whether a design basis can be opened, and to keep a record of what was asked. The record may include the version of a worksheet such as a load checklist sent back to you. The legal basis, where a privacy statute asks for one, is the step you took to request a reply, and the desk interest in keeping a traceable engineering correspondence. Marketing mail is not sent unless you separately ask for notes. You can tell the desk to stop at the same email address.

Logs and cookies

The host may store IP address, user agent, time and the URL requested, for security and to understand failed pages. Those logs are kept for the period needed for security review unless a longer hold is required to investigate abuse. The site does not run an advertising network pixel. A cookie may remember that a form validation message was shown in your browser session. You can block cookies in the browser. The form will still work. Blocking cookies does not hide the fields you type and submit.

How long it is kept

Unanswered inquiries and declined reviews are deleted or reduced to a short log according to the retention needs of the inquiry and applicable law. Correspondence that becomes a quotation file is kept for the life of that commercial record, which may be longer, because a later claim about what was offered has to be readable. Comment records follow the same inquiry retention rule unless the comment stays published, in which case the published text remains and the email is stored separately. You may ask for a copy of your inquiry, a correction, or deletion of a message that did not become a contract file. Deletion is refused only when a statute or a live dispute requires the copy.

Sharing and transfers

Processors who host the site or carry email may handle the data on the desk instructions. They are not allowed to sell it. If a project country is outside China, the technical description may be read by a reviewer in that region solely to check a code question you raised. International access is limited to people assigned to that inquiry. The site is not a public drawing room. Files you did not send are not pulled from your computer.

Children and security

The site is aimed at professional buyers of steel buildings. It is not directed at children, and the desk does not knowingly store a child inquiry. No method of transmission is free of interception risk. Messages are sent over the host encrypted channel when the browser negotiates it. Do not send a full calculation model if your own policy forbids email transfer. Ask for an alternative drop instead.

Changes

A future edit will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use after that date means you have the new text available. A project contract can contain a stricter confidentiality clause. That clause covers drawings and prices. This policy still covers the website form itself. If a statute gives you a complaint path to a regulator, you may use it. The desk asks that you Use the site inquiry form first so a factual error in a stored inquiry can be fixed.
